Question from journalist Santidip: Where did the idea of MEDICINE BANK come from?
Priyanka Neogi: On the 3rd of July, I and my mother returned home from Chennai. From the 4th, my mother had diarrhea, vomiting, and going to the toilet many times. When she was taken to the Pundibari hospital, she was given an injection and discharged. That did not work either. There are many prescription drugs. And stopped the private doctor’s medicine. Mother used to take private doctor’s medicine daily. After fifteen days, if the same situation occurs again, take mother to Pundibari hospital to buy medicine again. And if the medicine does not reduce, take mother to Cooch Behar hospital in the evening. is The sister asks to buy the medicine prescribed there. According to the sister, when I went to buy medicine at around 10:30 pm, the medicine was not available from the government medical shop to the public shop.
My mother recovered.
But I noticed after a few days back home
many medicines will no longer be needed, which only one medicine from each leaf has been used, and not a single one from the whole leaf has been used, and some retail medicines will not be needed. Again, some calcium, vitamin D such expensive medicines remain.
It then comes to mind that if Medicine Bank is done with every hospital and nursing home then people can donate their remaining medicines and also take what they need. People often fail to take medicines for two reasons –
1. If there is no medicine in the medicine shop,
2. For money problems.
And that’s why I posted on Facebook to bring the matter to the public. After seeing that post, someone said that Medicine Bank will be established in his area. After seeing the post, some people from Cooch Behar discussed with me to establish Medicine Bank. Hope to see medicine banks in different places in future.
Medicine Bank i hope people will get a little help and people’s lives will be saved. Medicine bank has taken initiatives for the common people. Many people die due to lack of medicine, so that no person dies due to lack of medicine in the coming days, everyone in the society should come forwardThey have to donate the unnecessary medicines. So that whoever needs them can take them. If medicine banks are kept next to every hospital and nursing home then common people will benefit a lot.
